On the studio floor

A sampling of unusual projects now being created in our custom services department

Okay, M/V ICON isn't technically on the shop floor (where would we put a 120+ foot ship?) -- and no, we haven't become boat builders! BUT... we were selected to provide interior millwork and cabinetry for the complete rebuild of the guest staterooms onboard the ICON, the largest craft in Newport harbor. Featuring hand-selected natural finish Cherry, marine grade hardware and materials, and a tough-as-nails catalyzed polyurethane finish, the ICON promises to be an extraordinary ship when complete.

If only the thing would stay still for a while--we're having a heck of a time using our levels!

GRAVITY Laminate

The client loves the freeform curves of the GRAVITY system, but wood just isn't his thing (yes, dear reader, even blueprint bookmatched custom-taped architectural grade veneers--sigh). Oh well, just as soon as we think we've done it all, there's something new to try. When we strip off the protective lining of the color-core laminates, this section will be an ultra-white upper cabinet assembly, incorporating a built-in microwave.

Come on back, they'll be more next month, or sooner if the mood strikes me!
